Dave Leather is a Medical Vice President in the Respiratory Franchise at GSK, based at GSK House in London in the UK. He joined GSK in 2000 and has held a variety of posts within the company. Within GSK he has been part of corporate change programmes, led innovation and been part of teams that have developed and marketed block buster medicines. Whilst at GSK he has written extensively in scientific journals, regularly faces journalists and has appeared on television documentaries. Originally a primary care physician in Bolton, Dave was a first wave fund holder and was a GP leader in the vanguard of change in the public sector. As an educationalist was GP Course Organiser and held posts as honorary lecturer at Aberdeen and Manchester Universities; professionally he was a member of the Council of the Royal College of GPs. Outside his professional life Dave worked as a media doctor for the BBC and commercial radio and performed professionally as a stand- up comedian.
